14 November: I shall be discussing HOWDUNIT, the Detection Club manual of crime writing advice from a host of authors past and present, with its editor Martin Edwards and fellow Detection Club members Aline Templeton and Elly Griffiths in a zoom event hosted by Barbara Peters of the celebrated Poisoned Pen bookshop in Phoenix, Arizona.

25 November: Awards ceremony (via Zoom) the Historical Writers Association. I'm delighted that The King's Evil, the third Marwood and Lovett novel, has been shortlisted for the Gold Crown for the best historical novel of the year.

7-11 December: I shall be co-leading an Arvon-at-Home course on writing crime and historical fiction with Louise Welsh, award-winning novelist and Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow. More details here.
